The Aguda and Pride
(IsraelNN.com)The Gay Pride Parade slated to be held in August in the White City was cancelled on Thursday in a decision made by the municipality of Tel Aviv together with the Gay and Lesbian Association.
The Association decided instead to work on the International Gay Pride Parade to be held in Jerusalem, according to Ynet news service.
Jerusalem Open House executive director Hagai El-Ad on Thursday called the international parade a “world pride event”, saying it was “a pinnacle for the gay community”.
El-Ad chided the Jerusalem municipality for its lack of cooperation in past years, and said, “We hope that this year the city will succeed in cooperating with the initiative instead of repeating its mistakes of the past years.”
