Kulanu Toronto holds speed-dating event
TORONTO - For the first time in Kulanu Toronto’s 11-year history, the Jewish social group for bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgendered, transexual, and intersexed people will hold a speed-dating event.
Justine Apple, executive director of Kulanu, which was founded in 2000 and has been funded by Hillel of Greater Toronto since 2003, said it’s about time her organization put together an event like this.
“I think there is a real need in the Jewish LGBT community to have a speed-dating event. I’ve spoken to a number of people who come to Kulanu events, who have said to me, ‘Oh, it would be so nice to meet a guy here, to meet a girl here. Between you and me, Justine, that’s one of the reasons I keep coming to these Kulanu events.’”
